It does cost $5 cash to get into Fort Desoto but once you're in you can experience an entire day of fun here. I would recommend bringing your own food as there is no real food in the state park. I do believe they have a small quick bite place but not the greatest food. Explore the old forts, enjoy the white sandy beaches or rent a bike and explore the area that way. Remember your sunblock and tents especially if you are bringing a dog - it can get stifling hot especially in the summer.

A fantastic place to grab a drink with your pup! A lot of fun and seeing all the doggies interact is hilarious. You do need to provide documentation that your pup is "fixed" and up to date on all its shots.
