One of the best “Cairns Waterfront Dining” spots is Dundee's Restaurant on the waterfront in Cairns. They serve the finest steaks from the grill, seafood, pastas and Australian specialist foods (Even Crocodile, Emu and Kangaroo). Located beneath Cairns Harbour Lights Hotel and adjacent to Cairns Esplanade. You can watch the Reef boats go to and from the Great Barrier Reef. We go there for special events. They do breakfast, lunch and dinner. Prices range from mid to high $$$.

Take a refreshing dip, or picnic on the grass overlooking the lake. Hike around the 3.5km lake walk with stunning rainforest and lake views. See the turtles from the viewing platform.
We suggest doing a full day Atherton Tableland trip, starting off with Lake Eacham.

Lake Eacham is located on the Atherton Tablelands, approx. 1 hour and 20m minutes’ drive from our house. You have to go up a range, which is really windy but worth it.
It's an easy one km walk or drive through World Heritage Rainforest to the Lake. Formed by volcanic activity the lake is filled with crystal clear rainwater. Take a refreshing dip, or picnic on the grass overlooking the lake. Hike around the 3.5km lake walk with stunning rainforest and lake views. See the turtles from the viewing platform.

Millaa Millaa Falls are magnificent waterfalls surrounded by lush rainforest located on the Waterfalls Circuit, along with Zillie and Ellinjaa Falls. The falls cascade perfectly to a pristine waterhole below where you can enjoy a refreshing swim in the cool water.

Surrounded by lush rainforest, the Babinda Boulders is an icon Cairns attraction and popular swimming hole and tourist attraction south of Cairns. It is a classic example of the fast-flowing tropical creeks in the area that are perfect for afternoon dips in the cool water to combat the tropical heat.

The action of the water over the granite rock face has worn it down over the years to form a smooth flat surface which the water runs over for around 10m and which it’s a whole load of fun to slide down.
