This is one of my favorite places because you can eat right out on the deck, over the water. Sometimes there is live music after dinner. The town pier and dock are also here where many people fish for mackerel and people arrive by boat to dine. There is also a boat launch located here.

Excellent local spot for lobsters and clams. You can eat right out side on the deck overlooking the harbor. This is also where the Hardy Boat leaves from to go to Monhegan or for Puffin and seal watches.

So this isn't really a restaurant... it is the local, working lobster pound. You pick out the lobsters and They'll cook them for you to eat out on the deck. This is my favorite because decades ago, my dad use to work out of here. South Bristol is my home town. If you drive to this lobster pound, you'll pass the tiny grammar school that I attended 50+ year ago! The people who work here are all local lobster and fishermen.

This fort has an interesting history and there are archeological digs here also. When I was a kids, I was totally fascinated by the huge rock located inside the fort, the view from the top of the fort, and the very old grave yard. There is also a small museum on site

They have Puffin cruises, Seal watches and most importantly a ride out to Monhegan! Go on the first boat and return on the last boat. You will NEVER regret you trip to Monhegan. If you think you might get sea sick, check out the drugstore before your trip so you get the best possible experience! Bring a backpack with liquid and lunch, sturdy walking shoes, and a camera!

Often in the summer there is live music out on the deck, on the shore on the Damariscotta River. There is a tidal rip visible from the deck of this bar. This is also a location where one can catch a boat for evening river tours to see the oyster farms.

This is a good place to bring a picnic lunch, sit on the rocks and explore the salt pond preserve, just like Rachael Carson did. There is a tiny place to pull off the road and park. Make sure you check the tide! For this visit, you have to time it to the tide has gone out.

150 ME-32This is a good place to bring a picnic lunch, sit on the rocks and explore the salt pond preserve, just like Rachael Carson did. There is a tiny place to pull off the road and park. Make sure you check the tide! For this visit, you have to time it to the tide has gone out.
Although this is a park, I called it a beach because it is a super place to bring little kids on hot days. It's a fresh water beach and there is an ice cream place just on the east side of the lake.

Without a doubt, one of the BEST hiking trails around. People often walk their dogs here a lot. You can get a good 3 mile power walk here if you go on the perimeter trails.

I know this is a little ways out of town but this is my sister's pottery shop. She has been throwing pots, creating her own glazes, and unique designs for decades. Her glazes are "Yummy", eye candy and very useful/practical, too.
