Historic Pub

Rebuilt in 1667 after the The Great Fire of London, this wonderful pub (short for "public house" incase you're wondering!) is just tucked away off Fleet Street and is great way to step back in time in the olde city! It's rich in character and an absolute gem, historically, and you can really imagine the conversations that have been had by its punters over the centuries. Just make sure to mind your head through the doors and stairs if you're taller than 5'4"...

Neighbourhoods

A visit to Spitalfields is a must if you enjoy a good market. There's plenty of pop up kitchens to grab a bite to eat and some great stalls to look around. Just a stone's throw from Spitalfields Market is Fournier Street - a fantastically preserved street of Georgian townhouses. A stroll down here and the adjacent streets has you feeling like you're walking through the set of a Charles Dickens adaptation for screen. You won't be disappointed! Best way to get there is via Liverpool Street Station and crossing over the main road (Bishopsgate) to find Spitalfields Market.

Made famous by the 1990's hit film of the same name, Notting Hill is a vibrant and wonderful neighbourhood to visit during any trip to London. Notting Hill became largely home to the Caribbean community of London in the 1960's onwards and its wonderful influence is certainly still there. Check out all the colourfully painted houses and doors and if you're lucky enough to be here for the last weekend of August the annual Notting Hill Carnival cannot be missed! Check out Portobello Road market on a Saturday morning!

Sightseeing

Royal Greenwich, at 0 degrees latitude is where time starts. The Prime Meridian is the longitudinal line that separates the Western & Eastern Hemispheres and it runs right through the centre of Greenwich - it's where we get GMT (Greenwich Mean Time) from! It's a beautiful spot to visit for a few hours or even a day, with plenty to see and do. Including The Royal Naval College, Greenwich Maritime Museum, The Cutty Sark and Greenwich Observatory (the views of the city from there are a must!). It's accessible via DLR (Docklands Light Railway - connected to the London Underground network) but take an Uber Boat from one of the riverbanks many piers - it's a much more scenic and fun route to take!
