Our local bakery is very dear to us. Only a five minutes walk from home we can get fresh bread, lunch, pasteries and cakes - a fusion of traditions and vibes from Italy. Having this luxury so close to home requires some self-management, being a cake lover like me. Mind that this third generation bakery has just reopened in one of the finest wooden buildings in town. Close to our tiny market place. The bakery has added to their products, and even have nook for locally made arts and crafts. Enjoy!

During the summer season our hotel has extended opening ours for the restaurant. We highly recommend it as they are able to mix local ingredients with the skills of their international chefs.

Where to begin? This place offers the perfect combo. You can hike around the lakes. There are two of them actually, though most people miss the upper one. If you are in for more of a sweat, hike Finnseterkollen - with the almost certain possibility to see eagles. The view is amazing. So is Uværshula, built-in-the-rocks hut open to shelter you on a stormy day. Locals come here during bad weather to soak the massive energy from the wind and the waves. Perfect in order to catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights. Top it off and visit the gallery. Where Betty, our national tea sommelier, will serve tea to remember for ever. For your eyes Siv has created art that honors our surroundings. Mind limited opening hours.
