Latei at Zeedijk is a very cosy place. Apart from serving delicious coffee and great apple pie you can also buy vintage furniture and organic olive oil here. It’s a great place for lunch or coffee.

It’s a seven minute walk from the apartment but absolutely worth it. Gebroeders Niemeyer serves the best bread and pastries in town. The make delicious sandwiches ( try the manchego) and have the best macarons in Amsterdam. Everything made in their in-shop bakery.

One of my personal favourites is café Schiller at the Rembrandplein (not to be confused with Hotel Schiller just next to it). It’s located in the old stables of the Hotel and has a beautiful art-deco interior. The menu is excellent but still quite affordable. Schiller has great wines and some vegetarian options on the menu as well.

An eclectic flea market 3 minutes walk from my place. A fun place to find vintage clothes, old books and just plain weird stuff! Every now and then there's a very big flea market in the North of Amsterdam called the Yhallen, check it out!
