This is a great dive bar. One of the oldest in the neighborhood. They invented "The Pickle Back" shot. Its a shot of whiskey with a shot of pickle juice as a followup. Its sounds crazy, but its really really good. And now, at least across NYC, is a very famous shot. The place is really cheap too, and it has a cool backyard.

Walking across the Brooklyn Bridge is my absolute favorite attraction in NYC, and its FREE. Bring a camera, you will need it. Walk from Bk to Manhattan, its the best way. At the base of the bridge, before crossing, there are cool restaurants like Grimaldi's Pizza (a must also), and a pier/park just under both Brooklyn Bridge and Manhattan Bridge. Its breathtaking. Then on the other side, walk on down to the Financial district and see Wall St, The Bull, and One World Trade Center. Go up to the top, its totally worth it. This is a great day trip! Take the G train, by the house, towards the Hoit and Schimmerhorn stop. Exit there, and walk to the bridge. Walking without stopping is 15 mins.

You know it from like every TV show and Movie ever. Go there asap when you arrive. Its best I think in the early evening. But dont eat or buy anything there, tourist trap prices. Hell's Kitchen is near, eat over there. Oh, and the people in costumes are annoying, give them a dollar or two if you take a picture with these strangers.

You will be taking the L train towards Manhattan and more than likely using this as your main Transfer station. But also, its a great place to find anything you need all at a good price (except for Whole Foods, ha). Its a really nice park and always filled with interesting people and pop-up shops/stands with merchandise you cannot find anywhere else in the world. I love Union Square.
