If you're sightseeing in North Pole, you have to swing by Santa's House! While its currently getting a significant expansion, you can still stop by and see tons of ornaments and holiday decor, do your souvenier shopping, and get some fudge. Across the way is the reindeer pen, and in the winter you can see all the amazing ice sculptures at Christmas in Ice.

Chena Lake Park has a sandy beach, a boat launch, and has an area to rent canoes, kayaks, and paddleboats. Good fishing year-round, and has ice fishing huts available for rent in the winter.
Chena River Park has a boat launch, camping/picnic/gazebo area, and also multiple trails to include cross-country ski only trails in winter.

The Chena River is a close, mostly calm river that's great for canoeing, kayaking, SUP, or motorized boating on. Whether you're on the northern forks that are more remote and turbulent or you're hitting the restaurants along the main river through town, it's a great way to spend anywhere from a couple hours to a couple days floating.
