Located 11 miles out to sea-great way to visit island is by Hardy Boat which leaves daily from Shaw's dock. Awesome cliffs,great walking trails and home to many,many birds-bring binoculars.

Great 1/2 mile white sandy beach where there is good swimming for whole family. Rentals of chairs,toys and umbrellas available. There is a nice snack bar and picnic tables for all to enjoy.

LAVERNE PRESERVE
Laverne preserve,my favorite.Located on route 32 in Chamberlain, a nicely cleared path thru the woods to the open ocean and Muscongus Bay.
A wonderful way to view the inter-tidal life of the area.It is very accessible from route 32 in New Harbor and kids just love being able to actually touch some of the creatures.
