A good local Indian restaurant, a bit off the beaten track, serving a variety of meat, fish and vegetarian dishes from South India. The only local place for Masala Dosas, if you like them. We do!

There are a lot of places to eat and drink in Leytonstone, so you have a lot of choice. San Marino's is reasonably priced and serves good, basic meals, including traditional English breakfasts.

Wanstead has a few nice restaurants, cafes, pubs and shops. Also, a "Farmers' Market" is held there on the first weekend of each month. It's a 10 minute walk, or one stop on the underground.

Although the Olympics were a few years ago, the area has been developed into parkland, shops and homes and many of the sports facilities are still open. The Olympic pool is open to the public.

I've never been to O'Neill's, but lots of young people go there at the weekends. so it must have something going for it! It is one of a large chain of Irish-themed pubs.

You either love it or you hate it! I hate it (because it can get so busy) but it has all the main shops and a lively food area with lots of food from around the world. It's next to the Olympic site.
