Great cheap, quality comedy on Franklin Blvd. Amy Pohler stared the comedy school. Iconic place for comedians. Also - Comedy Store (Sunset) or The Improv (Melrose) all good.
I don't drink but ppl like the Standard Hotel, The Roosevelt or Line Hotel.

Hands down - favorite hike and excellent pay off to visit the Observatory at the top. You can drive there too. Trails Cafe has great sandwiches & coffee if you want to eat after you come down.

It's a little pricey but super convenient. There's a Trader Joe's close by (on Vine) as well. Tip: the bakery @ Gelsons has GREAT (in my opinion) coffee + baked goods (including gluten free muffins). There's also a little market up the hill on Beachwood Drive.
