Awesome beach, it's really long so doesn't get as busy as others. There is also a great walk from Dee Why and you can walk along the coast all the way into Manly (not suitable with prams).

Recommend you walk to Shelly Beach from Manly (or Freshwater)... Lovely coastal walk that reminds me of Europe. It's also a marine reserve so great for snorkelling. The Boathouse cafe is also here, as well as others along the way.

Dee Why beach is great, there are big grassy areas if you don’t feel like sitting on the beach, a kids playground on the south end, a rock pool with a shallow kids section. Lots of cafes and restaurants to pick from (see my favs in the food section).

Great park large park close by. The kids love to run and play in the water fountains so I recommend taking swimmers, hat suncream and a change of clothes. There are swings, tunnels, climbing areas, slides etc.
