This is where they filmed part of Jurassic Park! You CAN'T drive down in the van. This is a very hard hike both down and up but definitely worth it! Make sure to bring plenty of water and snacks! Black Sand Beach! Tip: There is a Foodland grocery store on your way in Waimea. This is where we usually stop and stock up for the trip down into the Valley.

Black Sand Beach! Tip: There is a Foodland grocery store on your way in Waimea. This is where we usually stop and stock up for the trip down into the Valley.
On of my favorite beaches on the island. Some of the softest white sand and crystal clear blue waters, It's a little bit of a hike but not to high intensity and it's just a straight walk. Take backpacks with sandwiches and drinks, towels, snorkel gear and you will feel like you are on the set of a Corona commercial!

The van can't make it to the top but you can get to the visitor center. If you would like to find a tour guide to take you to the top in a 4 wheel vehicle let me know and I can give you some companies!
