A lovely country pub in Chidham which is a nice stop for a drink on a walk around the Chidham peninsula.

To walk:
It is a couple of miles and takes 40 minutes – gorgeous if the weather is fine. Turn right out of the Nook, turn left at the end of the road and cross over. Walk down School Lane and then along the footpath to the harbour. Turn left and follow the path round the shoreline taking the second left-hand public footpath into the fields. You will reach a road called Cot Lane – turn right and the Old House at Home is a few minutes’ walk on the right-hand side.
To drive:
Turn right out of the Nook and then left at the end of the road. After about a mile you will see a brown sign to the Old House at Home and the Barleycorn pub on the righthand side. Turn right and the Old House at Home is about a mile down the road on the right-hand side.

Walk through the marina and past the Deck following the path across the water and round onto the main road. Turn left and then left onto the road into Emworth - Driftwood is on the right after the right hand bend in the road.

It serves freshly prepared food and is great for brunch, fish and chips or a more sophisticated evening meal. (Open in the evenings Thurs - Sat.) There are wonderful views across to the Isle of Wight and great sunsets. The café looks simple but the food is absolutely delicious and it’s right on the beach! It’s a 25 minute drive.

East Wittering beach is a good alternative to West Wittering as the parking is easier and cheaper! You can walk along the beach to West Wittering very easily too!
