We just love wining and dining in Braunton - there is so much to choose from and most are pet friendly too xx Don't forget to book in peak season to avoid disappointment.
One of my favourite Coffee shops with a great variety on their menu. From Breakfasts to lunches to dinners as well as just a tea and cake moments. I would certainly suggest the smashed avocado with poached egg on toast or their English breakfast. Oh and they are dog friendly too - Bonus!

If you are planning to cycle or walk the Tarka trail towards Barnstaple's direction, please do stop in Chivenor at Waterside Cafe. You will not regret it and besides it will make your journey well worth it. Pet friendly too.

Rustic-style pub in an old stone manor house which can be accessed from the road out of Braunton or from the Tarka Trail. Outdoor dining with the best view of the Estuary watching as the tide comes in and goes out. Great service and delicious food.

Surfing Beach
For an amazing surf and relaxed beach time, Croyde boasts space and many pubs/restaurants within a few minutes walk.
Croyde Beach, or Croyde Bay, is a family friendly beach on the North Devon coast. On a sunny day it should be top of the list of things to do in Croyde. The beach is sandy and is set against a backdrop of sandy dunes. There is a wide expanse of rock at both ends of the beach, which makes for excellent rock pooling.
Croyde is famous for it’s waves. At low tide you can get world class A-frame barrels. When the surf is good Croyde features as one of the best, if not the best surf beaches in the UK. The waves have less shape at other stages of tide. The conditions at Croyde Bay are very consistent and during good surf it can get crowded.
Swimmers should heed caution at Croyde, the rip can be very strong at the beach, especially at the far right and left hand side of the bay at low tide. This shouldn’t deter you from taking the kids for a paddling session in the shallows.
Croyde is situated along the Croyde Road once you have passed through Saunton a small village, in North Devon. Pass around the headland and you’ll see the bay in front of you. You can either park at Down End or head into the village and along Moor Lane to access the beach.

The picturesque village of Lee enjoys a maritime climate heavily wooded in places offering some stunning local walks. During the flowering season many of the village hedgerows are ablaze with the scarlet flowers causing Lee to be locally referred to as 'Fuchsia Valley'. However bathers should be aware there are no lifeguards and the area is known for its strong currents.

The whole circular walk takes about an hour and whilst there are no dog restrictions please be warned that there are no shops or toilets either! Crow Point is one of our favourite walks and is relatively unknown to tourists.

My kids entered and then ran off into a safe environment and just had a blast. From soft play, to large slides, outdoor rollercoaster rides to the big kangaroo trampolines.
You can take your own packed lunch which will save you some money but if you prefer to eat there, they serve pizzas, nachos and all sorts with cold drinks or coffee.
There is a train ride around the park which the little ones love and indoor football challenges or pottery painting on your chosen ornament.
I would suggest taking the kids for the day if you want them to have some fun and just be kids.
