Situated in a garden with bamboo tables and seating, providing a tropical feel, together with three African grey parrots!
The Koh tan cuisine is a great family run restaurant. Very good food. Breathtaking views. A boat tour is also run from here which is recommended. The owner is friendly and we are often told adds additional character to the place. Service can be slow sometimes, but its a wonderful place to sit, enjoy and wait!

4170The Koh tan cuisine is a great family run restaurant. Very good food. Breathtaking views. A boat tour is also run from here which is recommended. The owner is friendly and we are often told adds additional character to the place. Service can be slow sometimes, but its a wonderful place to sit, enjoy and wait!
The Restaurant is located at Lipa Noi beach on the west side of Koh Samui. There are tables on the beach, very nicely presented with table cloths and candles. Long tail boat rides are available out to the islands from a small harbour belonging to the restaurant. Beautiful in the daytime and very romantic setting for dinner. Lovely part of the beach, picturesque and with amazing sunsets.

The Five Islands Restaurant
The Restaurant is located at Lipa Noi beach on the west side of Koh Samui. There are tables on the beach, very nicely presented with table cloths and candles. Long tail boat rides are available out to the islands from a small harbour belonging to the restaurant. Beautiful in the daytime and very romantic setting for dinner. Lovely part of the beach, picturesque and with amazing sunsets.
Krua Chao Baan Restaurant, a few mins drive or less than 10 mins walk from the Villa, is a large beachside seafood with idyllic views out to sea. It has two sections: one rustic with roughly hewn wooden furniture and basic seats and the other slightly more elegant with rattan furniture and a little more colour to it. The restaurant has overhead fans but is also well served by sea breezes. Krua Chao Baan’s kitchen turns out western breakfasts but generally otherwise concentrates on typical Thai dishes that are noticeably popular with both locals and visitors, which is an excellent sign.

The Night Bazaar operates in Lamai most nights and has a dozen or so stalls selling generally food with the only BBQ stall, but also a pretty good further selection including fish and vegetarian options. It’s good …not large, but all well established.

Wat Khunaram Temple has become famous for the Mummified Monk at Wat Khunaram that offers a unique sight into Buddhist and Thai culture. On display in an upright glass casket and surrounded by flowers, candles, incense sticks and fruit offerings is the body of Koh Samui’s most famous monk, Loung Pordaeng. For some Westerners this might be an uncomfortable or even disturbing sight. For Thai people the body of the monk is there to be worshiped and death is seen as an opportunity to be reborn in a next and better life.

Ying's house promises to give an insight into Thai style cooking and living. Guests are picked up from their accommodation and taken to the local market first to buy fresh ingredients. Cookery classes carried out at Ying's parents home. Her house is close here on the south of the island. An authentic, well organised, fun and personal experience provided by Ying. Well recommended.

Every Friday there is an evening market held at the Fisherman’s Village in Bophut. It’s a relaxed and family-friendly atmosphere with the road closed to traffic and the popular market attracts Koh Samui residents as well as tourists. A great area for a stroll, look around, purchase souvenirs, eat, etc. Lots of atmosphere. Can become very crowded. Advise to go early.
