Nonthaburi Old City Hall is a wooden building next to Nonthaburi pier. It is now a museum for people to learn about the history of Nonthaburi. Free to enter and has plenty of parking spaces. Operating hours is Weekdays 9am-5pm/ Weekends 10am-6pm/ Closed on Monday. The Old city hall was established in 1910BC in King Rama 5 era (We are now in Rama 10 era). It was originally a royal academy. The building itself was influenced by the western culture at the time and mixed with Thai architecture (There was an influx of western culture in Rama 5 era as Thai royals started to be introduced to wearing pants as an alternative to robes). You can get here by taking the boat straight from Nonthaburi pier. Find a group of uncles with a Ko Kret sign behind them and negotiate the round-trip price (300-800THB/Person). Set a pick up spot and a pick-up time. As a locally produced beer in Thailand is currently illegal (Small batch outside the proper factory is not allowed), Chitbeer is where local beer producers come to hang out. Sometimes they hold a course to teach the beer making process for free. Sometimes they hold a course to teach the beer making process for free. It is also maintaining the plants and animal diversity in Nonthaburi. It is forbidden to fish in the park since it's "A forgiving zone" which means no (Buddhism) sins shall be committed, this includes the killing of any animals. The park is very popular to the locals for jogging, tai chi in the morning, and aerobic dance in the evening. Open everyday 5.30am-6.30pm. Can be reached by going to Nonthaburi pier and take the raft to go across the river. Then hop on a motorbike hire for about 20THB to the park. If taking tuktuk or taxi it shouldn't cost more than 50THB.
