The nine streets is the area located between the biggest canals of Amsterdam. Most of the shops are a little bit more expensive, great to walk around with lovely views of the canals and some nice bars for a coffee or cocktail.

Noord is the up and coming neighbourhood of Amsterdam. Located across the IJ behind central station, it can be reached by metro or ferry. There are many restaurants, also the EYE film museum is located there. Another great area is t' Twiske, a large nature reserve in Noord.

They have amazing old squares, some great museums and also canals! A little bit less crowded than Amsterdam, Haarlem is a great alternative and you will probably see some things you weren't expecting to find in Holland!
