Food scene
A fantastic upmarket restaurant, oyster bar, bar and bakery is located just around the corner – you can walk across the water feature outside which is quite fun. The theme is Irish with American hints as the Irish owner lived in the US for many years. It’s open for breakfast or you can just buy bread from their bakery. The barmen serve excellent cocktails and you can just go for a coffee, drink, snack or full meal with excellent good quality cuts of meat and fresh fish (London upmarket prices though so be warned).
My top tip they are currently running an Oyster happy hour from 5-7pm, when oysters are only £1! On Sundays from 1-3pm they have live jazz.

UK leading upmarket chain of supermarkets is located 300m from the apartment back on the main road Nine Elms Lane direction away from Vauxhall Station.
This is a large format supermarket and there are some strong reusable plastic shopping bags under the sink in the kitchen that you can use to save plastic.
My top tip the fish and meat counters often have great bargains towards the end of the day.

There is a bench by the moat and it’s quite pleasant to spend an hour reading a book listening to the water feature.

The younger, brash brother of Tate Britain, the Tate Modern converted power station, 3 miles north on the Southbank is also a great place. Be sure to go up the viewing gallery on the 10th floor of the new Blavatnik Building Extension.
