A great outdoor bar right by the river. Even though it only functions when it's warm outside, they organise great events. Very hip place of Prague's cultural scene.

I know that offering you to visit a university might seem strange, but a group of students opened a very nice café here. Just tell the doorman you want some coffee and meet the local students.

Back to the roots! With many restaurants trying to be creative with their menu, Lokál decided to focus on the basics of the traditional Czech cuisine. They also serve great beer. How refreshing! Make sure to have a reservation.

It doesn't get much more typical than this restaurant. Being hidden around the corner from the tourist lanes, the restaurant doesn't try to lure in tourists and focuses on local residents.

Flashback! This place still works like it did in the 70's. It's one of the last remaining cantines - get a tray, move along, don't expect nice service, but enjoy typical Czech dishes and atmosphere.

If you come in the evening, you'll see the typical Czech way of drinking - sitting in a pub, drinking one pint after another, chain smoking and complaining about everything.

A tiny café owned by my good friend Adam, which is just around the corner from the apartment. He specialises in premium quality café, however his prices are very affordable. If you end up visiting, don't forget to mention you're from Marie's apartment!

Butcher Naše maso (Our meat) in Gourmet pasáž Dlouhá offers typical Czech specialities from meat, such as pork scratchings (škvarky - deep fried salty pieces of pork lard), tlačenka (It is generally bonded with brawn - thick pigskin and hock/trotters broth, with various combinations of meat cutoffs (i.e. knuckle, head), offal (tongue, heart, liver) and fat with seasoning). You can order a special table for dinner directly in butcher shop.

Letná park has one of the most beautiful views of Prague. It's also a place where an enormous statue of Stalin used to be in the 50's. Fortunately it's replaced by a big metronome today which is there to remind us that history can easily repeat itself. Ask me for the story of these two monuments, it's one of my favourite spots in Prague! Pro tip: there's also an outside bar rigth under the metronome. Sightseeing and a beer? That's the Czech way to do it.
