Food scene
Here are my suggestions for places to stop when you get off the plane or if you have some time before you leave the island. Safeway, Kukui Grove Shopping Center and Costco. Also, some places to eat and hang out right by your vacation rental in Poipu (Koloa)
Right on the way from the Lihue airport to your vacation rental. If you are running early you might want to stop and shop or get a bite to eat. They have restrooms, a place to sit inside and outside, electric outlets, deli bar, sushi bar, and a Starbucks. Across the parking lot is a gas station, A smoothie shop, a shaved ice shop, and restaurants too. A good place to stop on the way to the airport too.

Costco Wholesale
4300 Nuhou StCostco is in the same area as Safeway and The mall.
In Poipu a little Local Strip Mall with hidden food spots inside the Market. Acai Bowls and Juice bar in the back called 'Anakē's Juice Bar.Sushi in front of the market. Also Da Crack Mexican fast food. Look for the yellow submarine.

This is located in Koloa town. It has a walk up window on right side where you can order food. Very old school and busy. My favorite is the shrimp sandwiches, you will want to order 2!

2 Great places with safe ocean pools. Take a tour of some gardens, fun for all ages.
A five minute drive to the most beautiful beaches in the world!
Great place for little kids to play in the ocean pool and big kids and adults to surf and boogie board. Pack a lunch and spend a day at the beach park. Remember your sunblock. Free parking too.

Past the airport headed North is Lydgate Beach with an ocean pool that you can snorkel in. Pack a lunch and enjoy a day here.

I recommend purchasing a cooler bag to use as a carry-on. This is a multi-purpose bag that you can take to the beach and use it as a cooler too. I love traveling with this bag!
