1 Mexican chef Elena Reygadas opened Panaderia and created a sense of neighbourhood of La Colonia Roma. It's always packed full of a mix of people. You can just to go for a coffee, or just go for a croissant, or just go and pick up granola. Full of all the freshly baked bread you can think of. This is my No. 1 coffee place, and the best croissant in all the city!! Also a fav local delicacy the chocolate Balinesa, ask for it. My kids love their hot dark chocolate. Hours Mon - Sat 7:00 am - 9 pm Sunday 7:30 am - 6 pm

Because its the small brother of Maximo´s restaurant. Trendy and known for its large open table at the center with local atmosphere , try the chilaquiles, great coffee and fresh baked bread. You will love desserts if you have a sweet tooth. Delicious fresh toast and ice creams. Avoid during weekends because its crowded Calle Zacatecas 173, Roma, Cuauhtémoc.

Parks & Nature

Along with the tree lined streets, green spaces were also created with the addition of small parks called plazas. The old heart of the neighborhood is the Plaza Rio de Janeiro. This plaza is surrounded by a number of old mansions as well as a couple a tall modern towers. In the center, there is a fountain and a replica of Michelangelo’s David. One mansion that faces this plaza is popularly called the La Casa de las Brujas (House of the Witches) although its official name is the Edificio Rio de Janeiro. The popular name of this red-brick castle-like structure, built in 1908, comes from the face that seems to be formed by the windows on the top of the corner tower. Wikipedia.

Arts & Culture

This is a must. You won’t want to miss Mexico City's imposing Palacio de Bellas Artes (Bellas Artes Palace), located about seven blocks the west of the Zocalo, next to the Alameda Central Park. Immediately you will see why this grandiose domed Palace is among the most important of the city’s myriad sites and attractions. Every now and then I love listening concerts or visiting local or international exhibitions. https://palacio.inba.gob.mx/ Overwhelmingly vast: The top floor of the cultural center houses some seriously impressive murals painted by Mexico's most well-known muralists—Diego Rivera, José Clemente Orozco, David Alfaro Siqueiros, and Roberto Montenegro. Before the Spaniards demolished it, the Teocalli of Tenochtitlán covered the site where the cathedral now stands, as well as the blocks to its north and east. It wasn’t until 1978, after electricity workers happened on an eight-tonne stone-disc carving of the Aztec goddess Coyolxauhqui, that the decision was taken to demolish colonial buildings and excavate the Templo Mayor.

If you saw the movie Frida, you’ll recognize this museum, designed by Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera's friend, architect and painter Juan O’Gorman. The artistic couple called this place home from 1934 to 1940 (Frida, Diego and O'Gorman each had their own separate house). Rivera’s abode preserves his upstairs studio, while Frida's (the blue one) and O'Gorman's were cleared out for temporary exhibits.

One of Mexico City’s most iconic structures, this cathedral is a monumental edifice: 109m long, 59m wide and 65m high. Started in 1573, it remained a work in progress during the entire colonial period, thus displaying a catalog of architectural styles, with successive generations of builders striving to incorporate the innovations of the day.
