Group fishing trips a short walk from the house. Easy to book (even last minute), it’s a great thing to do with the kids. For a romantic sunset cruise, take a pass on the Captain and book the catamaran in downtown Newburyport.

Plum Island has some of the most amazing sunsets. To get the full experience - if the tide isn’t high - take a left out of Lille Hüs, cross the street and walk down 58th toward the basin about 15 minutes from sunset. Public access is down a sandy path. Walk along the sand looking over Joppa Flats as the sky lights up with a million reds, yellows, and pinks. Plan to stay at least 20 minutes after sunset as that’s when the sky really starts to turn color.
If it’s high tide you can take a right on Northern and walk to the point (10 minute walk) to catch the sunset from the sand. You can also drive to the point and park there after hours for the sunset.

The island’s local beach bar is a fun place to end the day with beers and margaritas. Be sure to check their Facebook page for news of local bands swinging through. It’s a 2 minute drive, 10 minute bike ride from Lille Hüs.

A great trip for kids and adults alike is a bike ride from Lille Hüs to the Creamery. Their ice cream cone and shakes are amazing (try the camp fire s’mores or Milky Way flavors).
