Sightseeing

You want to get there early and you will need to purchase a parking pass. Water shoes for every are a must. Terrific place to cook burgers, swim and hike for more than one full day. Cathedral Rock is in the backdrop and watching sunsets and taking photograph is something that people do regularly.

Another great place to hike, swim and see some great red rock views. There are some small Indian Ruins in close proximity to the parking area that even small children can navigate the trail with some help to reach. I recommend wearing long pants and close toed shoes for all hikes and being prepared with water shoes and a lot of sunscreen and water to drink if planning to stay and swim as well.

Rachel's Knoll is one if my personal favorites because it has history that I am personally part of. I am a real estate appraiser and when Rachel passed away in 2000 I was hired by the City of Sedona to appraise her property because she had donated all her property to the City. She had spent her life purchasing all the land that is surrounding Rachel's Knoll (now known as Seven Canyon's) and her Will and the attorney's she hired to insure that her wishes were met, stated that her land would never be disturbed and developed and that people could use it and enjoy it forever. Her Knoll was to be open to the people and accessible forever. After being brought up to Rachel's Knoll and witnessing the most pristine and beautiful land and red rock views I have ever seen, Rachel's son turned over her Will and sold off her land for billions of dollars. A small portion of the land still exists with a post where Rachel once stood and if you "Google" Rachel's Knoll there is a photo of Rachel standing proudly next to that exact post that point in all directions of the world to invite everyone in the world to come and enjoy that glorious land and peaceful, beautiful space she was gifting to the world. I encourage anyone and everyone to go visit. Sadly, you must pay a gate fee to access her Knoll. I believe it is $3.00, and it is not supposed to cost anything but it does. It is worth taking the trip out there and just seeing the remainder of her Knoll and the beauty of what is left there and where she once stood. :0)

Neighborhoods

Travel up Airport Road and part of the way up on the left you reach a small "cut-out" and this is one of Sedona's vortexes. You can park right there on the left and hike up to the top of the vortex and view some really nice views.

Közlekedés

Uber does not really exist here and taxi's are hard to find.

Sedona's population is probably smaller than the condominium subdivision that most people live in. The City of Sedona has fewer than 8,000 people that are full-time residents, but there are close to 9,000,000 people visiting here a year. Unfortunately, no one here who needs a job has realized that Uber or Lyft would be a good one yet and it has not "caught on yet" here? With this in mind, you will need a car, bicycle or running shoes and Sedona does not have level ground. It's topography is level to rolling. Be prepared.

During October to April the weather can be unpredictable

We have seen snow in June and 100 degrees in December. People are often surprised to experienced real Winter weather here but we have four real seasons and it gets cold. Sedona is located in the high desert which means that the temperature varies greatly from the day time to the night time. In the Winter it can go up to 70-80 degrees in the day time and then as soon as the sun goes down, the temperature may drop down to 40-50 degrees!
