There aren't many Mexican restaurants in Washington County (or even Maine), so we were pleasantly surprised to discover that Vazquez is the real deal. We love this family business. Prices are great. Seating is limited to outside benches so we usually order for take-out.

Good seafood and drinks. Portion sizes are large. Tends to be quieter seating outside. Inside is more of a pub atmosphere in the evening.

This is a fun place if you have kids. Unique building, mini-golf, blueberry flavored... everything. If you're driving through Columbia Falls, I'd suggest making a stop.

Another great breakfast/lunch option if you are travelling as a family. It has a loyal following of regular customers. They are not open for dinner - breakfast and lunch only.

Moderately difficult trails for adults. There is a lighthouse that you can boat out to and often see puffins. Bathroom facilities are limited.

This is one of our favorite places to bring a picnic lunch and enjoy by the ocean. It does not get a lot of visitors so you can usually find a table close to the water.

This is our closest entrance to Acadia National Park. Just as scenic as Bar Harbor but without the tourist crowds. Let the Island Explorer Shuttle take you around the peninsula - it's free.

There won't be enough time to see everything so do your research and plan your visit ahead of time. There are plenty of websites online with helpful suggestions for organizing a successful trip.

They do outdoor educational nature programs for school age children. They do regularly scheduled group events as well as smaller individual events. They are based out of Milbridge.
