Hiking
Catawba falls is a beautiful waterfall approximately 15 miles east of our cottage. An easy 1+ mile hike to the falls along a creek with several swimming holes.
Avoid weekends in the summer and include a visit to Hillman Brewing in nearby Old Fort.

With over 40 miles of private maintained trails, Montreat's trail system offers a variety of options. My favorite is the hikes on Big Piney up to Rattlesnake Rock.

Just 18 miles north on the Blue Ridge Parkway (access is 5 min. from cottage). Craggy Gardens offers several great trails and an amazing 360 view from the top of Craggy Pinicle.

South on the Blue Ridge Parkway is Mount Pisgah, Graveyard Falls, and many other trails from Graveyard Fields. Nearby Pisgah Inn is a great place for lunch.

Just 5 minutes from the cottage, Highland Brewing is the oldest and among the best breweries in Asheville. The brewery not only features great beer, but also food trucks, music in the meadow, an 18 hole disc-golf course, volleyball, and much more.
