Fairview is an older, established working-class neighborhood a 30 minute walk to downtown. We are urban, with urban social issues visible. That doesn't mean we don't have an active Community Center and Council because we do! You'll see new homes, old homes and something in-between. We have lots of children in elementary school and have our own parks too. We are involved in living here.

Bus, Taxi and Ride Share
If you are still thinking about a car my friend, Jed Sims rents cars 907-350-8354. He will likely have good rates too. Yellow Cab, Uber and Lyft all operate in Anchorage. The bus service is every half-hour on weekdays, you can get from the airport to my place easily on weekdays if you arrive before 8pm, otherwise call for a ride. Sat and Sun the bus is only on the hour so not much fun.

Bring clothing layers
Plan on layers. If you go out on the water, hats and gloves for best fun. If you like to hike, a sturdy pair of hiking boots. Windbreakers, fleece, tanks, even something for under jeans. Our summers are cool, 63F average.
