Food scene
We love Pi-Squared and eat there often. Our personal favorites are the Square Tomato Pie and the Cheeseburger Pizza. The calzones are great too. It’s just 1/2 mile down the road so you can even walk there. Weekend nights get pretty busy, so I would suggest planning a little ahead. Their pizza is even better the next day, reheated in the oven so get enough to have leftovers!

Absolutely adorable 60’s style diner with a little bit of everything. Open early for breakfast, closes after lunch. Only 2 miles away.

Oh my word! If you like Italian, this place is amazing. Again, plan ahead on weekend nights but it’s worth it.

If you venture out to Brevard or head into Pisgah to hike, we highly recommend stopping here. Drive thru only so pick up and have a picnic. It’s crazy good!! The pulled pork is awesome and we both love the K.C. Jones sandwich but have plenty of napkins or even at wipes for this sandwich. It’s messy. The French fries are delicious and I’m not big on French fries. Closed on Sundays. From there…head over to Dolly’s for some

My personal favorite is the salted caramel. They’ve just opened a new location near DuPont State Forest. I haven’t been out there yet but I’m sure it’s just as good! I absolutely love stopping here after winter hikes to warm up the insides!

If tea rooms tickle your fancy, The Book and Bee Cafe and Tea is just a little over a mile up the road. The reviews are great! Breakfast is first come first serve but they do require reservations in the afternoon.

Mills River park is close by if you have the kiddos and Mills River Creamery is also down the street if you want ice cream after.
