Monki is great for breakfast and brunch, but watch out there may be a line up! Luckily Monki is located across the street from Community Organic which is great for groceries.

There menu always has various options for all types of diets. It's a good place to go if you have a picky group of friends because everyone can usually find something they will like on the menu.

I love Phil & Sebastian Coffee Roasters, yumm especially there breakfast sandwich! I also really enjoy the atmosphere of the mission location as well as the one in Chinook Mall. Phil & Sebastian are a local Calgarians that have started with humble beginnings in a Calgary farmers market. they now have six locations and "strive to be that local coffee shop that just does things right. Diner Deluxe was featured on the Food Networks "You Gotta Eat Hear!" Needless to say Diner Deluxe offers some of the best breakfast and brunch options, they also have a dinner and lunch menu so you will not be stuck with just breakfast options. I would highly recommend ordering the oatmeal as a desert to share, the oatmeal is deep-fried, covered in lemon custard and sweeten condensed milk

Getting Around
Sunalta is the nearest train station at about 3 blocks away. The train cost $3.33 and is good for 90 min. This train will take you right into the downtown core. The train is good if your going to the Stampede grounds where parking is costly or hard to find.
When leaving the house head right and walk down 12th Ave until 17Th Street. At 17th Street Turn left cross the street and go down to 10th Ave, at 10th Ave turn right and go straight until you see the train station of your left at 16th Street and 10th Ave SW.

Entertainment & Activities
From mid November to mid March Olympic Plaza offers the only outdoor refrigerated ice skating rink. The skating rink is open to the public from 10am to 9pm. You can rent skates at a stand right in the plaza. Skates cost 12$ for 2hrs rentals. Its a fun winter activity in the heart of the city and at night there are pretty lights that create a beautiful atmosphere.

There are countless hiking trails. The Banff area has 3-4 skiing hills and resorts one can go skiing and snowboarding on. There are great restaurants and Banff upper hot-springs is always a favourite of mine to visit.

Parks & Nature
During summer months you can go rafting down the river in Calgary. Lazy Day Raft Rentals offer rafts and reasonable rates. They also have a shuttle that will take you to Bowness park where you will put your raft into the river and come into the city ( just be sure to book the shuttle). Lazy Day Raft Rentals is located along the river about a 3-4 hr float away from Bowness park in the downtown park called princess island park. Once you arrive near Lazy Day office you can call them to come out and help pull your raft to the side, return ur rental and go about your day.
