Excellent reasonably price fine dining. In summer a lovely outdoor garden. Professional and attentive service. Specials are not "throwaways" they are fresh high quality compositions expertly rendered. Reservations highly recommended. This is my favorite place in Hudson because it's always good, top quality and friendly. In summer their outdoor garden is really fabulous and spacious with propane heaters for chilly nights too. No detail forgotten.

Currently being remodeled but still open for business. Kinda rowdy......defintely not for country club types. Limited food available once in awhile. Reasonable prices.

There are several parts to Helsinki. One is a fine dining restaurant with a creative menu, extensive wine list and great cocktails. Another is the very important nightclub venue which offers an astounding variety of music performers, other shows and on Tuesdays open Mic. Helsinki is a fantastic community resource bringing together musicians, spoken word artists and other performers. There is also a huge enclosed private outdoor space and a flexible private space upstairs. Popular shows are sold out in advance. You can order dinner and /or drinks during shows. There is no minimum but there is usually a reasonable ticket fee. Comfortable and clean, this is a great club.

His creation inside and out is a lifetime achievement of design, Grounds and views are free and so close. It is a MUST do. Reservations are required for interior tours of the house. Their is also a landscape tour !This house/museum possesses over 87 thousand original objects in its collection. None of the contents have ever left Olana. Tour guides are knowledgeable and entertaining. Check it out on the web. If that's too onerous at least just take a short drive up the hill to the house and park. Walk around the magnificent grounds and admire the views of the Catskills and the Hudson.

Serious coffee styles, high quality fare. Must drive to get there. Just a few minutes over the gorgeous Rip van Winkle Bridge. While youre in Athens check out its Hudson River waterfront.

KAYAKING. This is a great spot to kayak the bay but NOT necessarily the mighty and unpredictable Hudson. It used to be possible to walk from Bard campus to Croger's Village at Tivoli Bays. (That was more than 40 years ago so if you are interested do some internet research). Also about kayaking

Its the last refuge of the antique shops from Warren St plus others. You can do it in 25 min or 3 1/2 hours, depends how long you choose to browse. There is A LOT here and it just goes on and on and on and on. My favorite shop is Tongue N Chic, they carry high quality merchandise and their prices are fair and reasonable. Local artist Sarah Berney sells her wonderful oil paintings and handmade paper pieces as well as drawings and other works on paper. There is a talented creative furniture maker and many levels of antiques from high end to low brow. Free coffee and tea are available to browsers. Easy to walk to or drive with plenty of parking. Afterwards you can explore the waterfront
