Arguably the best raclette in town, this is a great option! Limited menu but the food is excellent and well worth a visit.

The best place for après ski in Les Contamines, gets very busy during holidays but always has a great atmosphere. The staff are great and there's often live music on a Saturday during the holiday periods.

Ski Hire
There are all the usual big name ski hire shops in Les Contamines, but we have been using Alley-Oop for over 20 years. A small family-owned business run by Jean-Francois (Jeff), they always have a great selection of skis, boots and other accessories you may need as well as a great workshop.
They have 2 shops: One in Les Contamines and one just around the corner from the apartment (under Hotel Chemenaz) in Hameaux du Lay

If you fancy a relaxing spa day, look no further than the thermal baths of Saint Gervais for a relaxing day in the foothills of the mountain. Visit their website to book a slot in advance.

For something different, take the historic Tramway du Mont-Blanc between Saint Gervais and Les Houches.
Built from 1906 to 1912, the Tramway du Mont-Blanc takes you directly to the slopes of Les Houches! The highest cogwheel train in France, it comprises carriages bearing charming first names (Anne, Jeanne, Marie) for a timeless journey.
In winter, from Le Fayet or Saint-Gervais, the Mont-Blanc Tramway opens the doors to the friendly and family-friendly ski area of Les Houches-St Gervais (1800m): the magnificent Bellevue plateau, which bears its name well!

Restaurants get booked up quickly in Les Contamines so we recommend you book a few days in advance!

Evasion Mont Blanc!
Les Contamines is part of the Evasion Mont-Blanc Ski Area, boasting over 400km of pistes. You can buy a ski pass that covers the entire area and can be bought either online or by the main cable car.
You can access the wider Saint Gervais / Megève resorts using this pass which is only a 10 min drive away for a wider variety of skiing and more tree-lined runs. We've found Saint Gervais to be more reliable on days with poor visibility.
Les Contamines is however more snow-sure and we find the snow is generally much better here.
