Breakfast/brunch

Favorite places to get food in the morning and early afternoon!
This is a crowd pleaser; delicious pastries, baked goods, sandwiches, salads, and pizza! They also serve delicious hot and iced beverages including fresh pressed juice, coffee, tea, and lemonade. (And soft drinks too) Beware of long lines, and if you want breakfast items or juice get there early because they do sell out! There is covered outdoor seating, but it’s usually so crowded we take our food to go.

Yummy breakfast and brunch here! Our favorite dish was a monthly special a little while ago- huevos rancheros - so if you happen to go and see that offered as a special, GET IT! (And maybe if we all keep asking for it they’ll bring it back again sooner than later;)) other things here are great too! Nice, bright, laid back dining room.

This place is a bit of a hidden gem, out of the way and not a main stream spot but we love it. It’s a family run Salvadoran restaurant that serves delicious avocado toast and breakfast items all day as well as fresh pupusas (small white corn cakes filled with your choice of fillings…meat, cheese, beans, veggies) they also have home made horchata, and other agua frescas and a few baked goodies as well. Service is slow— everything is made fresh. If you’re in a hurry call ahead and get an order to go! They are open relatively late so it’s a great late night dinner take out option if you don’t want fast food!

Dinner favs

Looking for something delicious for dinner? These are our favorite places to go!
We love Thai food, and after trying a few spots in st George Benjas won out! They have two locations, and we have only been to the st George boulevard one so that’s where this recommendation is based! We love to get their curry (we like red best but yellow and masaman are also great)! and pad se ew (noodles)! They also have sushi if that’s what you’re in the mood for. This location is in a super charming little area next to the pizza factory and some other local favorites. We love to dine in here, it is a nice spot for a sit-down dinner. The service is usually very good and pretty quick and the food is amazing!

*** Washington location is just over 5 minutes from our house! Great local pizza place the whole family will love. Dine in or take it to go! Our favorite things here are the Margherita, the cheese-stuffed breadsticks, and the cinnamon roll for desert!

If you like Indian food, don’t miss this place! If you’re familiar with Bombay House in Salt Lake City Utah, and Provo Utah, this restaurant is related to those and the food is equally delicious to their sister locations up north! Our favorite things are coconut korma curry, with naan; vegetable or paneer (cheese) masala; the appetizer sampler with samosas, chicken pakora, and veggie pakora is also a favorite thing but only get it if you dine in— fried food isn’t as good when you take it home because it isn’t crispy anymore by the time you get to eat it!

Lunch (or dinner)

Casual dining spots good any time of day!
This is a small, hole-in-the wall family restaurant with yummy and affordable tacos! If you’re looking to feed a crowd you won’t be able to get better food at a better price anywhere else! I love the carnitas mulitas, my husband loves the carne asada Sonora taco, and the Birria is good here too! Don’t miss the salsa bar inside — the indoor area is very small but the outdoor patio area has a lot of room to eat and hang out. There’s lots of Mexican options and so far this is my fav, because it’s such a small operation sometimes the hours are unpredictable but we always enjoy our visit to la cocina!

If you like chicken sandwich places this is the spot for you! All they do is chicken and custard and they do it very well. We love both the sandwiches and the salads— our favorite sandwich is the Buffalo ranch and our favorite salad is the house salad (I like it with ranch instead of the suggested honey mustard). Their food is very high quality and very fresh. I appreciate them having sauces out and available for you to get as much as you want with your meal (and be able to try them all) I also appreciate that they don’t use any artificial preservatives or dyes. This is a pretty safe bet that everyone in your group will enjoy, they have chicken fingers kids meals, vegetarian options (avocado sandwich and salads) and healthier grilled chicken options as well— but I have to admit, they do the crispy stuff very well so we go for the fried option every time!

Very creative and “out of the box” tacos! Not your traditional Mexican restaurant at all, but a very fun a flavorful place to dine! We love the “tikka masala” taco, the “Lebanese blonde”, and the “rude bull”— but mostly we love the FROZEN HORCHATA and other agua frescas served frozen! You’ll be back for more I guarantee it! (Also their sister store “flake pie bakery” is right next door for a sweet or savory pie!

We love this for fresh, fast casual food. Their menu is simple and enticing! We built our own bowls and loved every bite! *we did note that their name is changing to “zesta bowl” soon so if you don’t see kairos look for zesta— the address will be the same though!
