Balboa Park is a “must see” in San Diego. Visit the museums along the Prado , the Zoo, restaurants, parks, playgrounds, merry-go-round, art studios, and not to mention the beautiful, Spanish-inspired edifacios and architecture built during the World Fair of 1912.
The world famous San Diego Zoo is located in Balboa Park. This is one of the world’s best zoos, bar none. I recommend you buy a bus tour and a skyFari pass to make the most out of your day at the Zoo.

Neighborhoods
South Park is close enough to Golden Hill, that I recommend you check out the restaurants, cafes, art studios, shops, yoga studios, a cool gym to work out, etc. this neighborhood has it all. If you’re traveling with pets, this is where you want to go to visit the South Park Dog Park (best dog park in town!). The restaurants are incredible: Buena Forchetta (Italian), Cafe Madeleine (cafe), Station Tavern, the Big Kitchen Cafe (killer breakfast! )
There’s even a record store here. You can’t go wrong spending time in South Park.

I like walking down Newport Avenue in Ocean Beach , because there are cool consignment shops, cool eateries and fun bars even a couple roof-top bars). Newport runs right into the beach, and just north of there, is the famous DOG Beach. So ,if you brought along your furry friend, this is definitely a destination spot for you. You can take you dog for a dog wash after the beach.
