This makes a great day-trip from my Quiet Place.
Imagine yourself with very few others, in a place that is more than a dozen miles of unspoiled beaches and has a historical 100+ year old home that is now a museum.
Explore Turtle Mound, the great native Indian midden, or shell mound that remains from their settlement in the area 3,000 years ago. Only about 30 feet in elevation, it was their garbage dump and landfill, and possibly a gravesite. Great views and a cool breeze will reward you after the brief walkway climb to the top.
Take the route to the old Eldora Community, where you will see a surviving home from some of the earliest Florida settlers. The State House was next door to the Eldora Hotel, now demolished, but this stately home has been restored and renovated, including air conditioning. Sit outside on the rocking chairs and imagine a slower time in days past, where the occasional steamboat would visit to pick up citrus and drop off hotel guests.
After you have had your history lesson, continue the next 10 miles to the end of the seashore. You'll pass multiple parking lots along the way, and you may find in the busy summer months that these are the only open parking spaces to be had. It does get a bit busy in the summer months, so expect parking issues if you go during peak hours. They ticket and tow offenders.
If you go to the beach from the last parking lot and walk south, you might find your clothes are a bit restrictive and you need to loosen them completely. While not legal, you may find others have released their inhibitions and are literally hanging out. Just more a caution for those with kids...

City/town information
A couple local towns you can visit and walk around. There are others, but these are the closest and best from my Quiet Place. I do not recommend Daytona Beach, but Ponce Inlet I have featured and you have to go through South Daytona to get there.
A great outdoor town centre for strolling and people-watching. Just about 7 miles from my Quiet Place. Settled by wealthy New Yorkers 100 years ago and has it's own rendition of Central Park. Go to: https://cityofwinterpark.org/ it's a few miles from my Quiet Place, but a great way to spend a few hours. This is where the very wealthy live and play. The cars are BMW, Audi, Mercedes, but primarily the M series, S Series and AMG series of these. That's the best way I know to describe the people who you'll see there... Kelly Park is in Orange County west of my Quiet Place. Probably 18 miles and 30 minutes away. There's BBQ pits and places for a gathering. You need to get inner tubes a the little store on the corner before you enter the park. The spring comes out of the side of a small limestone formation. Very rocky at the top and a small inner-tube run, but fun for any family with kids. Gets super crowded and closes early on weekends in the summer.

Very rocky at the top and a small inner-tube run, but fun for any family with kids. Gets super crowded and closes early on weekends in the summer.

Go to: https://www.kennedyspacecenter.com/ $$ Waaaay better than a day at Disney or Universal Studios, IMHO. Visit the Brix Project afterwards, if you can keep from eating their park food. It's about 4 miles north of the visitor complex on US-1. Hands-down best gastro-pub, with great food and great Playalinda microbrewery beer choices. https://www.playalindabrewingcompany.com/taprooms/brix-project/ (Playalinda is the nude beach, south of Canaveral National Seashore, FYI)
