The NC Museum of Art is huge and has two buildings. Plan on a full day if you want to see everything inside and out (yep! fantastic art outside!). Special exhibits have a fee, but general admission is free.

This museum is so much fun, no matter how old you are. They have amazing dinosaurs, a butterfly house you can walk through and all kinds of animals and labs. So many hands-on activities! And, the food in the cafe is pretty good too.

The huge local hospital with a trauma center may not be a sightseeing stop for everyone, but it is very close. If you have a loved one being treated here, or are visiting the hospital or conference center for work, take note because it's 1.5 miles away through the neighborhood.
