We've had a couple of meals here, and both were excellent. It does seem to be very popular, so booking is recommended. On a summer's evening it's possible to walk back up the hill to our place, but be warned - it's quite a climb!

Unassuming exterior, but this is worth a visit. HQ for certified organic beekeepers, Mountain Honey doubles as the brewery for Hexagon Mead. Pots of honey & bottles of mead are available for purchase, and the site tour is highly recommended.

Getting Around
Kaikoura Shuttles are the closest thing Kaikoura has to a taxi. If you want to go somewhere, but don't want to drive, then give them a call. They will usually be fairly quick to respond.

Be sure to check out the stars if you get a clear sky
The view of the night-sky from our place out on the peninsula is fantastic if the sky is clear. Turn the lights off, go outside and wait 5 minutes for your eyes to adapt. The milky-way is clearly visible, and you'll likely see shooting stars.
