a nice day trip to old forge to the shops and cafes and then to check out the amazing exhibits that the View has on display, they change regularly, so if you have gone before, the art work has changed.

Shopping
there are several little shops that are up and down the main street (route 12) that are great to shop in, for that unique gift or for something for yourself, lots of personally crafted items for shop owners and a great little walk from place to place.
Also the annual Cream Cheese Festival (yes its a thing) is a great event to attend if your in town that weekend, but get there early to get a slice of the largest cheese cake made from their very own Kraft manufacturing plan in Lowville. generally happens around the middle of September (third weekend)
