As such, it's also the oldest Chinatown in the southern hemisphere. This vibrant quarter of town is lined with karaoke bars, duty free stores and so many fantastic little restaurants, it's hard to know which one to choose. Located along Little Bourke Street and it's surrounding lanes and streets, we recommend dumplings at Shanghai Village, mains at Supper Inn, and the desserts at Secret Kitchen.

While still honouring its former life as a regular convenience store – you can purchase cartons of milk, soft drinks and lollies or top up your Myki – the right side offers the option to linger for coffee, breakfast, lunch or a seemingly endless list of cakes and slices.
