Berkeley's best and only dive bar. There's an outdoor patio, smoking allowed on it and they sell food. It's an extremely social venue and one of the very few places to get a cheap drink in the bay.

This is the GLBT friendly bar in the East bay. It can be fun or dead depending on the night. Friday and Saturday are guaranteed dancing and the drag shows on Wednesday can be great.

Irish music every single day, almost. Weirdly they don't serve Whiskey despite being "the oldest Irish bar on the West Coast." Beer and wine only; their food is pretty good.

This is a lovely space to do yoga in. They don't offer scads of classes but those they do teach are good. Use the code YOGA to enter the gate and go upstairs to the studio.

It's an easy walk over the freeway into this space and, on a clear day, the views of San Francisco and the bay are commanding. Various restaurants and bars dot the marina along your walk.

One of the strangest places in the bay. The Albany Bulb was a homeless cooperative until a year ago when the city of Albany forced them out and bulldozed their home. They left all the art, though.
