Just 5 minute drive from our home is this old mom-pop family breakfast house. It is literally a home turned into a breakfast spot for locals. I LOVE taking my family here and getting home cooked styled meals of bacon, eggs and pancakes.

For anyone who loves good coffee and the best pastries in town, Patticakes is a gem in our neighborhood. Baked fresh pastries every morning with the nicest family running the place. A lovely place for a coffee and snack before walking the neighboring trails.

BEST HOMEMADE GELATO Ive ever had. Family run from Italy, this is as authentic as it gets around her. I recommend stopping in and trying the Pistachio flavor.

This local gem of a hidden trail is tucked away next to the JPL Nasa center. It has rivers and luscious tree surrounding trails. An absolute beauty to stroll through and explore.

This nature preserve is one of the most beautiful in the area without having to drive deep into nature. This is a pocket of beauty with a waterfall and trails included.

My favorite museum in Los Angeles outside of the Getty museum across town. This is just 10 minutes from our house and is a local favorite. There is a beautiful botanical garden with modern statue art surrounding a large coy pond. The museum itself is private and modest but has an impressive collection of art from Van Gogh to Rembrandts.

Japanese ponds and bridges, Greek statues on vast green lawns, art museums in small mansions through out the garden estate as well as a library. A coffee shop right at the entrance and then a collection of gardens adopted from all over the world. A truly special, intimate and gorgeous place to spend the day!

Although across town from us, this is the most beautiful museum I've been to. Its grand and on top of hill overlooking the ocean in Santa Monica. It also has a classy and delicious restaurant with a gorgeous view of the ocean and surrounding mountains.

Nothing beats the ArcLight theaters. There are a couple through out the city but we have our very own just a quiet 10 minute drive from the mountains if you want to catch an evening movie outside the house.

There aren't many small independent movie theaters like this one anymore. This local spot plays special foreign films, festival and independent art films that don't make it to the big theaters. A perfect place to see a beautiful and more artistic film outside of the mainstream of hollywood movies.
