The Village Green is a busy place in the summer. There is live bandstand music there most nights as well as art shows and just general good people watching. Get an ice cream at Mount Desert Ice Cream and sit in the park for a while.

This is FREE public transportation to many places on the island. Leave your car at the house and take the Island Explorer bus. You can even bring you bikes with you. They are clean, safe and friendly.

If you want to swim but the ocean is too cold, try Echo Lake Beach. This is a beautiful, clean lake with lifeguards on duty. The little ones will love playing in the shallow water and building sand castles.
