Food Scene
This is a very cool place with an awesome vibe located right on the downtown square. They have a small patio and very nice bar. They do not take reservations, unless you have a large party, but they do allow call-ahead seating. On big weekends, you can definitely expect a wait, unless you are willing to go before 6pm or after 9pm. The service and food are excellent.
Some of my favorite items are: Seared Ahi Tuna, Fish Tacos, Lime Chicken Fettucini, Mahi-Mahi pasta, Hickory BBQ Chicken burger, Wasabi mashed potatoes, asparagus, and sweet potato fries
They also make a great old fashioned if you like bourbon and an excellent martini, if you are more of a gin or vodka person.

The place is very old-fashioned and has almost a diner feel to it when you step inside. It's loaded with IU memorabilia and the tables are clad with red and white checkered table cloths.
If you are a on a budget, you can get the Sirloin for 2 or 3, and it will always serve at least 1 extra person. If you aren't on a budget, then order the Filet or Ribeye (get the tomahawk ribeye if they have it). If you aren't in the mood for a steak, they also have the best burger I have ever tasted in my life! Don't forget their amazing cheesecake for dessert!

The Uptown Cafe is one of Bloomington's oldest restaurants. Originally known for their amazing breakfast (Salmon Eggs Benedict is unreal good), it has become Bloomington's most gourmet establishment. Everything on the menu is amazing. They also have, hands down, the nicest bar in Bloomington, and can make you any cocktail imaginable. My favorite entree is the Spaghettini Agliata with chicken, but everything on the menu is truly amazing. Reservations are recommended.
