In summer they have "free" bbq on their patio (you only pay for drinks and sides, then leave a "donation" of however much you want for the meat). Live music on summer weekends. It's pretty popular, so come early!

Walk around the historic Van Wickle House, part of the Meadows Foundation, and then cross the wooden bridge to the D&R Canal tow path for a pleasant walk or jog. The path goes between the canal and the Raritan river and is quite scenic year round.
