Very good cafe food and wonderful selections of coffees and other drinks. My favourite is the Triple layered mousse cake. Yum!!

Unique old building (survived our earthquakes).Very friendly atmosphere with old tables, chairs and everything else old including the teaspoons! It's very popular for its great coffee and food and also has a small Trade-Aid shop on the premises. you can also buy fresh coffee beans and ground coffee to take home. Parking is at the back of the building but I personally would like to see more parking available. It's not always easy to get a park because it's so popular.

Very good reasonably priced meals. Live music some nights. it is also has a bar and a separate gaming room.

Shopping
A very unique boutique shopping centre with good cafes, restaurant and bakery. Also take a walk along The Boardwalk outside the main Tannery building to other unique shops. You will not find your usual shops at The Tannery. Just a short 10 minute drive from our property. its well worth a look. The building is an old tannery (leather works) which has been extensively renovated to the very unique building it is today. Well worth a visit on a rainy day.

Very popular for walking tracks and cycling tracks. Also very popular to some of our native birds. Very good children's playground area and picnic areas.

The perfect place to sit in the sun on the beach and enjoy the ocean. Also popular for local eateries, icecreams and for enjoying the views from the top of Cave Rock. If the tide is out, you can walk through Cave Rock. A fun thing to do at the beach!

Ideal bay for surfing or just lazing on the beach in the sun. Also popular for the Boulder Bay walk way around to the heads of the harbour. The walk takes about an hour each way depending on how fast or slow you want to walk it.

Well known for it's Irish drinks and wonderful Irish atmosphere! They have a restaurant which serves very good Irish and other food. You can book a table in advance and eat while the band is entertaining you. A real 'must visit' if in Christchurch on a Tuesday night. They also have another Irish band (Black Velvet) playing on Sunday in the afternoon.
