INDOORS-- New construction--it's a 450 sq. ft. slice of heaven with: •Vaulted ceilings and two skylights (with remote-control operated shades) •Full-size kitchen with modern appliances including LG fridge, toaster, and Keurig coffee maker •Media center with a state of the art sound system, Bluetooth capability, movie projector, and 110" movie screen (Hello STAR WARS!) •Queen-size Murphy bed with a comfy hybrid mattress made of memory foam and spring coils, an armoire with plenty of closet space, and puck lighting (ideal for a little late night reading) •Cozy breakfast nook with comfy linen pillows •Barn door opens to a roomy bathroom with: marble floors--frameless glass shower doors--spacious fully stocked, walk-in, sit-down shower with marble bench--oversized shower head--spacious vanity •Carriage doors that can open out to enjoy the splendor of the day OUTDOORS--A resort-like backyard is awaiting you with: •Newly constructed swimming pool (38'Lx9'W) •Beautiful and serene landscaping •Stunning ambient lighting •Fire pit •Dining table •Luxury sofa chaise lounger •2 chaise lounge chairs The cottage is situated some distance behind the main house, so you'll be able to enjoy a lot of privacy. The backyard is yours to use during your stay, including the outdoor dining area, outdoor sofa, chaise lounge chairs, fire pit, and swimming pool. Relax and enjoy!! CHECK IN: 3pm CHECK OUT: 11am PARKING: We provide parking permits (day/night) for you upon arrival. If you're staying more than one night, please be mindful to switch out the daytime permit each day. There is usually ample parking, so finding a space should not be an issue. DISCLAIMERS: (1) THERE IS NO LIFEGUARD ON DUTY SO SWIMMING IS AT YOUR OWN RISK. (2) DIVING IN THE POOL IS NOT PERMITTED. (3) WE DO NOT HEAT THE POOL. IN THE HOTTER MONTHS, THE POOL STAYS AROUND 76-80 DEGREES. HOWEVER, PLEASE KEEP IN MIND IT NATURALLY GETS COOLER DURING COLDER WEATHER (65-68 DEGREES AND BELOW). (4) PARKING ON THE STREET IS AT YOUR OWN RISK. WHILE WE'VE NEVER ENCOUNTERED ANY ISSUES, WE CANNOT GUARANTEE YOUR CAR'S SAFETY. (5) IF YOU SHOULD FORGET TO PLACE THE PARKING PERMITS IN YOUR CAR OR PLACE THEM INCORRECTLY AND RECEIVE A TICKET FROM THE CITY OF PASADENA, YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE TO PAY FOR THAT TICKET. We operate under the notion that, if you're getting away or on business, you're probably craving some quality time alone and privacy. We respect that while you're here. Of course, in the event of an emergency or to gain access to the property, we are available 24/7. The guesthouse offers a tranquil retreat close to civilization. The metro and a variety of restaurants are easily reached on foot. Downtown Pasadena is a short bike ride, healthy walk, or brief car ride away. Pasadena is a beautiful town with so much to see! We are a 10-minute walk to the Lake Gold Line Metro Station, where you can catch the Gold Line to South Pasadena and enjoy Mission Street's shops/restaurants, take the Del Mar stop where you can take in the famous Rose Bowl Flea Market (2nd Sunday of every month), take the Union Square stop to experience Olvera Street (margaritas, anyone?) or a delicious French Dip sandwich from Phillipe's. If it's a museum you seek, exit at the Memorial Park Station to find the Norton Simon Museum, one of the best collections of visual art in the Los Angeles area. Downtown Pasadena with it's wonderful shops and restaurants is a mere 5 minutes away by bike or car (or, for those of you who enjoy some exercise, a 30-minute walk). We have two adorable dogs. They never have access to the cottage, however, so it is allergen/pet free. During your stay, we happily keep them in the house and only let them out to do their business in the front yard of the main house. You might hear the occasional bark, as they love to protect their homestead. But, most likely, you'll never hear them as the cottage is a comfortable distance away. BTW they are friendly and love meeting new people!

Treehouse Cottage in Quiet South Pasadena Village

The apartment is very private and is in a free standing building above two garages. It is compact but is pleasantly cozy and has everything that one could need. The entry landing is always awash in morning sunlight and would be the perfect place to drink a morning cuppa and take in some vitamin D rays. The living room is bright and airy, but also the perfect viewing setup for an important ball game or Netflix film. The kitchen is a generous size and is equipped with all the necessities. The bedroom has a super-comfy king sized bed with top notch bedding. And the adjoining bathroom is also spacious with a large walk-in shower and a stack washer/dryer unit in the event you want to do a load of laundry. The apartment is situated at the end of the driveway. The area right in front of the downstairs garages is open for parking your vehicle. The stairs leading up to the unit are just adjacent to the parking area. The neighborhood consists of charismatic turn-of-the-century homes and tree-lined streets. In fact, South Pasadena has been designated as one of America's "Tree Cities". Many shops, restaurants, and fun local events can be easily reached on foot. We are located very close to the Gold Line Metro light rail train. From this station, you can easily can hook up with all other lines through Union Station which is a 17 minute ride away. You can go to Hollywood, Universal City (Universal Studios), Chinatown, Hollywood Bowl, Little Tokyo, Old Town Pasadena and more. And if you don't mind connecting to a bus, you can even get to Disneyland via train and bus easily in 1h15. The LAX airport is also very easily accessed via a direct flyaway bus and Metro light rail. The front door is operated with a digital lock. If guests do not know how to use one of these, they should contact us before their arrival.
