Located at the tip of the Blue Hill Peninsula, Brooklin, Maine offers a quiet retreat a bit over an hour from Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. A one-minute walk from The Maine Hideaway's doorstep brings you into the historic village of Brooklin, Maine and a close walk to Wooden Boat School. Our home was built in 1874, we have multiple guest rooms, all with incredibly comfortable mattresses and modern furnishings. We serve a continental breakfast Tue-Sat and hot breakfast on Sun & Mon.

The stained glass windows give the room a rosy Medieval glow. With two comfortable chairs and a fireplace, this room has it all. We are a B&B so breakfast is included with your stay. Please see our website for the menu. Our in town location gives our guests a three minute walk to the harbor and downtown Bar Harbor.

Built in 1849, Pres du Port has been in our family for over 50 years. Perched above the harbor within Stonington village, each room is unique and the views are breathtaking. Walk to everything in town or relax in a rocking chair on the porch. Beau Ciel is our most spacious room with both harbor and sunset views, a king-sized bed and en suite bath. Be on the lookout for updated photos in April, we are completely renovating this room – it will be amazing!

The North End of Our Restored Barn

Our beautifully restored 160 year-old barn is centrally located on Mt. Desert Island, approximately 15 minutes from the village of Bar Harbor and approximately 10 minutes from the entrance to Acadia National Park via an old farm road, aptly named 'The Crooked Road'.
