Approx 1500 sf area with plenty of parking in a very rural area close to hiking and swimming or rock climbing at Hanging Rock State Park, and Pilot Knob, as well as floating the Dan River or just relaxing watching the horses play in the paddock, enjoying roasting hot dogs or smores over the fire pit. Cabin on Big Creek near Hanging Rock/Dan River

The Cabin on Big Creek is a unique spot, private, with singing water on three sides. The creek is wide, accessible, kid-friendly. Queen bed and double futon. Minutes from HRSP, paddling, mountain biking. To be clear: this is a hybrid between comfort and “glamping.” No WiFi, no cable, no TV. The hot & cold water sink and shower are outside(water shut off in hard freeze, so no shower then but water supplied indoors). The toilet is an outhouse. Bedding is provided, bring your own towels.

The Rock Retreat

This beautiful log cabin, previously known as Indian Creek Cabin, has been an important part of the Hanging Rock Community for many years. It began as the Hanging Rock Outdoor Center. The property is adjacent to the Indian Creek Trail area. It is within a few miles of the Lower Cascade Falls, Dan River, Moore's Spring bike trails, and of course, Hanging Rock State Park. Adventure awaits with ziplining, kayaking, canoeing, and river tubing excursions within minutes of the front door.

Fish the pond and have a picnic in the peaceful setting. You are close to many outdoor recreation areas including Pilot Mountain and Hanging Rock State Parks and the Dan River.
