Stone House - Joy River Backpackers

The Stone House is self-catering and contains, in the main bedroom, one double and one 3/4 bed with an en-suite bathroom, flush toilet, bath and shower. The lounge, with a fireplace, contains a single bed and couch. Bedding is provided and mosquito nets. Joy River Backpackers is situated at the very beginning of the Blyde River Canyon. A genuine African village experience, rustic & laid-back atmosphere prevails and the buildings blend serenely into that of the village. The water is potable.

Cubla House is a beautiful free standing house in a big,tranquil garden full of indigenous trees and with an abundance of birds. It is named Cubla after the puff-backed shrike. Eden Rain

The house is centrally located and is within easy walking distance to the main attractions. It has its own fenced off garden and is situated in a small estate with 3 other houses. There's a solar system which keeps lights, wifi and the fridge on during loadshedding! The main living area is spacious and has a beautiful sunroom for lounging around. Each bedroom can be arranged into either double or single beds which is ideal for any group booking and there is a pizza oven available as well.

Marabou is a cosy two-sleeper cottage, identical to our Royal Wulff cottage, perfect for a fisherman’s adventure or a romantic getaway in the bush. Located near two tranquil dams, the cottage boasts a studio layout that ensures intimacy and comfort. Marabou’s king bed and tidy sitting area are warmed each evening by an indoor fireplace, while the patio opens right onto the African bush and the dam’s distinct ecosystem.
