Lamoine State Park is a nice 55-acre park for those who want to escape the crowds on Mount Desert Island. When you don't want to fight traffic and just hang out, take a little (2+ mile) trip to Lamoine Beach and see Bar Harbor and Cadillac Mountain from the water for free. A long and mostly deserted gravel beach, it's good for seeking solitude and rose hips.
