This is a great museum to bring kids to. Interactive activities including a scavenger hunt. Show cases multiple dioramas of Maine wildlife. Also has a tide pool with sea stars, snails, hermit crabs, and other marine animals that visitors can watch and touch.

Small, but informative. A good way to kill 1-2 hours on a rainy day. It's located on the campus of the College of the Atlantic, so also a good reason to stroll through campus.

Just outside Bar Harbor on the College of the Atlantic campus, this museum has a great display of wild animals (taxidermy from already deceased animals) and a living tide pool touch tank of ocean creatures.

“Lamoine State Park is a public recreational park located on 55 acres along Frenchman Bay. The Park hosts picnic and campsite areas, hot showers, a dock, boat access, a pebble beach, and it allows fishing. It's a perfect place to kayak and has wonderful views of Acadia and Bar Harbor. Since it's close to, but not AT Bar Harbor or Acadia, it's usually pretty quiet, which makes it perfect for some low-anxiety beach time. :)”
